Prof. Dr. Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider
Prof. Dr. Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider is Professor of law at the Rheinische Fredrich-Wilhelms-University Bonn. Born 1985 in Oldenburg, she studied law at the University of Bremen. In 2011 she received her doctorate from the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg and was awarded the German Foundation for Law and Computer Science’s Science Prize for her thesis. After her legal clerkship in Landau, Stuttgart and London she was appointed junior professor for civil law, intellectual property law and copyright law at the University of Cologne in 2015. In January 2017 she was appointed to the Chair for European and International Data- and Information Law at the University of Passau. After completing her habilitation for which she was awarded the Dieter-Meurer Prize of the German EDV-Gerichtstag and the Friedwart Bruckhaus Förderpreis of the Hanns Martin Schleyer Foundation, she was appointed to the Chair of Civil Law, Information- and Data Law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in April 2018. Here she also heads the Research Center for Legal Issues of New Technologies and Data Law. Her main areas of research are data- and data protection law, copyright law and personality rights as well as internet- and media law.
