Since 2003 head of the research group, since 2019 of the Division Sustainable Production and Consumption at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, since August 2012 guest professor and from April 2016 to the end of 2021 part-time professor for sustainability research in design at the Folkwang University of Arts in Essen. Since 2022, she has been an adjunct professor of sustainability in design at the University of Wuppertal. In July 2019, she was appointed to the Expert Council for Consumer Affairs.
